Manuscript, in a single hand, of a collection of 30 primarily serious poems, divided into five groups roughly by theme. Topics include nature; war; and government. Titles include Autumn, an ode; Wished for home, an ode; Tyranny, an ode; The old warrior bard; On the return of Napoleon; Ode advising the American War; and Ode against the Americans. The collection also contains one humorous poem titled The fashionable London spoon. The manuscript is prefaced by an essay, in French, on the Histoire des Egyptiens of Charles Rollin.
